Godspell April 29, 2008 Wonderful & moving portrayal of an old story of Jesus in a captivating modern (yesterday) setting. Still powerful impact.
Remember April 24, 2008 Some people might think that hair represents the ol' days. But Godspell provides a much depper and less commercial view - with great music and actors as well as a very good feeling. **********

Godspell- the movie April 21, 2008 This amazing movie with Victor Garber puts a fun twist to the gospel according to Matthew. (based on the musical) I just finished doing the musical at my high school, and was pleasantly surprised at the fun and energy that radiates from this story. Great fun!
Just seen it for the first time!! March 24, 2008 I just saw part of this movie for the first time yesterday (Easter Sundar no less) and I think it's an incredible movie for all to see!! I saw this production at a church that a friend of mine attended a few years ago, and was excited about it then. My parents saw this movie and thought it was great!! What makes that comment notable is the fact that my father doesn't really like movies that involve the "hippie" sort of look that was common in 1973 when this movie was produced, but he enjoyed the music and the message that this movie brings.
I also think that children would enjoy the movie. It portrays the life of Jesus very well without having the harmful effects of some adults knowing that it takes place in a time in our history where some things were taboo in our culture (drugs, for example). I would recommend that any youth group or older Sunday School class be given the opportunity to view this movie. Their lives may be changed by it!!
