nitelite November 18, 2008 The only way this could be better is if the kindle itself lit up from inside, but this is so neat, I can read in bed without leaving table lamp on and it's so convenient to switch on and off.
Handy Dandy November 17, 2008 I got this to sneak a read on my Kindle in the middle of the night and not wake up MDH and it works a treat! I love the snaky neck and the light it puts out is beautiful--but not so bright it interferes with my husband's sleep. Great product!
The best light of this type I've used November 17, 2008 I bought the Mighty Bright after seeing it linked to a Kindle ad. The Kindle is still way too expensive for me, but the light is very nice. I use it to illuminate my keyboard during early morning or night sessions. I use a Wacom pen tablet beneath the monitor with a compact keyboard off to the side in the darkness. I had an illuminated keyboard that became disfunctional after a year, so looked for a less expensive alternative to use with my un-lit compact keyboard. I also use it to clamp onto a book for night reading in bed, and to replace the candles I've used for journal writing at the kitchen counter during the wee hours. It preserves the cozy atmosphere I enjoy for those introspective activities. The batteries are holding up fine after a month of regular use. I find the difference between the high and low settings slight, so use low most of the time.
I've used USB flex-stem lights that plug into the back of the compact keyboard, but the two I tried began to flicker and died within 2 months, and they didn't have the light coverage or portability of the Mighty Bright. I'll be getting one or two more, I'm sure.
Not great to clip on Kindle November 17, 2008 I bought this light so I could clip it on my Kindle. It works, but I am afraid to let the "clippers" go down too far on the screen, for fear of scratching the Kindle screen. This makes the light a little unstable. The light also comes on too easily in the bag in which I carry it. There is no protection over the on/off switch. But the light is bright and makes using the Kindle on a dark commuter bus possible.
The little light that could November 17, 2008 This light is a great addition to my kindle. It also works great on normal books as well. It's compact, easy to travel with, and bright enough to read without straining my eyes. I like that it has two light settings, 1 bulb or 2, for brightness control and reading ease. It's really a must have for those who love to read before going to bed or on late night airplane rides who also don't want to disturb their companions!
