One thing that will hit you quickly about Jeremy Camp's Live Unplugged is the number of radio hits the 24-year-old has already chalked up. Ten of the 11 tracks on this release were penned by Camp and nearly every one has reached the top, if not next to the top, of the Christian radio charts. It's been an amazing ride for Camp and he capably displays his career highlights here in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. He plays it safe with basic arrangements throughout, but you will hear some nice piano touches by Justin Glasco on "Right Here" and "Empty Me." The addition of the Nashville String Machine is also used well on "My Desire," which may be the best track on the release. Along with Glasco's piano accompaniment, Camp delivers powerfully and emotionally here and maybe even surpasses the song's original version. Camp also shines bright on "Take You Back," "Stay," and "This Man." Kudos also go out to Camp's wife Adrienne (who used to lead The Benjamin Gate) for some fine backing vocals. Granted, there are a few blemishes such as the cheesy vamp at the end of "Walk By Faith," a slower-than-it-should- be version of "I Still Believe," and the head-scratching cover of Tim Hughes' "Beautiful One." But why major on the minors? Live Unplugged is a worthy effort and a nice inclusion to any Camp fan's collection. --Michael Lyttle

5 out of 5 stars The Most Intimate Worship Album of all Time. A Masterpiece.   November 25, 2008
Jeremy Camp has grown to be one of my favorite worship leaders in modern society. His songs are very inspirational, and the music that accompanies his lyrics could easily be heard on any mainstream rock station in the country if more people would just embrace Christ. With this one though, Mr.Camp slows it down and goes unplugged, and this has become my favorite of all of his albums, and I own them all. Sure, I love the rock and roll on his other stuff, but here, you have quieter music that actually lets you focus just a little more on the lyrics, and that puts you just that much closer to Christ. Especially rousing are the acoustic versions of "Stay", "Empty Me", and my favorite on this album, "Right Here". I also love the version of my favorite Camp song of all time "This Man". All in all, this music will put the Spirit in you, and just brighten up your days.
Peace and Love,
Jake

5 out of 5 stars Need More Albums Like This   November 20, 2008

I'd never been a fan of Jeremy Camp until I picked up this album. This is the basis of what I know of his background: his first wife died of cancer, and he is now remarried. With this in mind, Camp knows about heartache and having your faith in a loving God tested.

This is evident in songs such as "Walk by Faith," when he says "I will walk by faith/even when I cannot see." In "I Still Believe," Camp realizes that God is the only one he can turn to in trials: "Well the only place that I can go/is into your arms/where I throw to you my feeble prayers." There is a catchy worship song in the form of "Beautiful One." "My Desire" features a great piano-based melody. His biggest hit "This Man" tops off the album.

If you're a fan of acoustic music, this album will appeal to you. Camp's wife sings backup vocals, and the cozy nature of the live audience gives it a simple sound. I thoroughly enjoyed this CD.

3 out of 5 stars Very touching   September 9, 2008
I enjoyed this album. I liked the mellow focused mood. It is a great worship cd. I would have loved to have been there for the recording.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   March 5, 2008

5 out of 5 stars Amazing even to the ears of an 18 year old who usually listens to punk music.   January 11, 2008
Jeremy Camp's unplugged album is one of my very favorite cd's that I own, and that is really saying something, because about 90% of my cd collection is punk music. I want to share a little testimony story on here if that's cool with you. (Don't worry, it has to do with the CD.)

So I grew up in a Christian household and always heard of Jesus every day at home and in school. It went in one ear and out the other. It was like, "blah blah blah Jesus blah blah blah." As I went thru high school I never took my Savior very seriously and well.....my heart just wasn't in the right place. Then in the winter of Senior year I went thru a huge change of heart and Jesus became the most important thing in my life. This album played a huge role in that. My dad got it for Christmas and I gave it a couple listens and adopted it as my own. (Don't worry, Dad was cool with it.) I loved being able to relate to the lyrics and come closer to my Savior. He really reintroduced Himself to me thru this album. Today I am in college preparing for the teaching ministry and I will be spending the rest of my life teaching high school age kids about Jesus as they go thru their teenage politics. <--haha mxpx...never mind.

Anyways, ON TO MY REVIEW OF THIS ALBUM!!!!!

Allright, this album is a little on the longer side, a little less than an hour...something like that. It is a bunch of Jeremy Camp's
singles, including his very best songs, (Take You Back, Walk By Faith, My Desire.) The songs go over a variety of lyrical topics, so it won't get redundant at all. For example, one of my favorites, "My Desire" is all about wanting to be used to do God's will. It is extremely easy to relate to, and you can listen to it as a prayer to God, saying to Him, "Here I am, send me." Walk By Faith is about knowing everything will be just fine, because it's all God's plan for you, and you just know in your heart that He knows what is best for you. I could go on for a long time, but I won't.

To accompany these honest and heartfelt lyrics, this album offers very laid back acoustic guitars and piano and light percussion. It's the perfect album to just chill and listen to. So when you feel the need to just refresh your mind and have some alone time with your Savior, definately pick up this album.

Allright, I'm done. I hope you check this album out, because it's worth a listen. I hope it effects your life like it did mine.

God bless!!!
