Christians who have longed for a more readable literal Bible translation will find much to praise in the English Standard Version. The ESV's translation team of over 100 members has admirably attempted to preserve the stylistic variety of biblical authorship and ease of reading (at the eighth-grade level) despite the word-for-word translation, which historically has resulted in a choppier text flow. Bible study aficionados will appreciate the short introductions to each book, an extensive center column cross-reference system, full-color maps, and a 14,500-entry concordance.  ESV Trutone Nutmeg Filigree Compact Bible December 29, 2008
I did a little research before I purchased my first ESV Bible and I am very happy with this product. I wanted something in the ESV, small enough to fit in the back pocket of jeans, words of Christ in red, and both testaments. This product provides all that I was looking for and more. The only problem I have is not with the product as much as it is with my poor vision. Whatever size the font is, it is tough for me to read. I don't have to wear glasses to read it but I probably should. I guess that is the price you pay for needing a Bible that fits in the back pocket. If you have good vision or if you want a small and complete Bible, this is a great choice. The price that Amazon offers was also less than anything else I was able to find. Another great benefit is that it comes with a free offer for the ESV software. I downloaded it and found out that it is way more than just the ESV on software, it is a bible study software, commentary, research, etc., etc., etc., and more. The software is really cool!
a great premium thin, easy read bible December 20, 2008
The convenient size and high quality, as well as text size is really nice on this Bible. I highly recommend this one for a durable copy of God's word that is great to carry with you.

ESV Classic Study Bible November 17, 2008
I really enjoying this bible translation, and it also contains a solid accordance. I would reccomend this bible to anyone.
Accurate and Attractive October 5, 2008
The ESV seems to be a very accurate translation. It does not always read like contemporary English, but sometimes that's an advantage because it makes one stop and think about what one is reading. I really appreciate the way Crossway has some beautiful covers for these Bibles. I'd gotten tired of black and burgundy!
