Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"Sometimes I feel like when I make decisions that are remotely biblical, people who call themselves Christians are the first to criticize and say I'm crazy, that I'm taking the Bible too literally, or that I'm not thinking about my family's well-being. . . When people gladly sacrifice their time or comfort or home, it is obvious that they trust in the promises of God. Why is it that the story of someone who has actually done what Jesus commands resonates deeply with us, but we then assume we could never do anything so radical or intense? Or why do we call it radical when, to Jesus, it is simply the way it is? The way it should be?"

5 out of 5 stars excellent!   November 23, 2008
Francis takes an insightful and enlightened approach to looking at the LOVE our Lord has for us and in light of it, the devotion and life we should lead for HIM. This book will jar your lazy American faith, and wake you up to the spoiled reality that we are loved by an AWESOME GOD. Francis is direct and clear and at the same time deep and relevant. I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for more significance in their walk.

5 out of 5 stars Best book I've read in a long time   November 19, 2008

This book is phenomenal. It changed my life and continues to each day. Francis presents the truth of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. He invites us to the challenge and reality that we're called to give everything up if Jesus asks for it. He reminds us that obedience is the key to genuine discipleship.

Lots of Scripture, great illustrations...this book will keep you on your toes and give you a fresh perspective that all of us that call ourselves Christians need. He invites us to a life that is radically different to the average American, but the question still stands...how will you respond?

5 out of 5 stars Read this Book!!   November 19, 2008
I had the chance to hear Francis Chan speak at NOC08 and received this book and it changed my life. This book helped me focus on the majesty of God and put me back in my place.

5 out of 5 stars God is Love   November 15, 2008
This book has opened my heart to fully embrace what living a life for Jesus means. Our world needs this book more than ever. There are so many lukewarm Christians living life half-heartedly. God has an ocean waiting for us, but we are comfortable swimming in the pool. Pastor Chan puts a realistic bent on what the foundation of our church should be, putting aside theology, although important, our faith should be grounded in love. I recommend this book to anyone who is searching for meaning, looking for love, or struggling with accepting Christianity. God is love, and when you embrace that and experience His love, you know He is real beyond your wildest dreams.

5 out of 5 stars This is love. Great job Chan!   November 11, 2008
I am usually not a person that reads during my leisure or buys a book and finishes it, but instead I have a tendency to get bored with one and move on to the next. This was not the case with this book! Chan does a great job of capturing your attention for the things that matter; like, if God did create us and did do all of these wonderful things for us, and did die a sacrificial death just for us, then why is our response to those things just to sit in church and try not to cuss. It's this type of thinking that stirs the hearts and minds of people to actually act out their faith in love. Great book, read it in a week, which is highly unusual for me.
