Practical, conservative book September 16, 2008 This author has a special talent for covering topics with practical, down-to-earth language. I have heard him preach and teach classes, and I've read his articles and books. This book continues to show this quality. For Bible students looking for good advice, tips, and examples of how to understand God's Word, this book is a must.
Topics covered include: --Tips on what to look for regarding an accurate Bible translation --Suggested books that will help in Bible study --Tips on studying figures of speech (Evans is a former English teacher) --Nine common mistakes made in study and much more!
This book lays a great foundation for Bible study. It is simple enough to be of benefit to (and not intimidate) beginners, but it also provides good examples, questions, and thoughts to provoke the seasoned student. I highly recommend it.
