 Picking up what's left of you and filling out the forms. October 12, 2008
That's right the police are not required to protect YOU, they are required to pick up what's left of you after the crime and they are required to fill out the report and the forms. In fact, even if they arrive on the scene of a crime in progress, they don't know that you're the good guy AND if you're not wearing a white hat might mistake you for the BAD guy. Do yourself a favor, read this book and if you still don't think you should be armed then at least have a nice big life insurance policy so that at least someone might benefit from your errr... naivety.
This book might not apply to those elites with enough resources to afford there own security force (i.e. Rosie O'Donnell). If you can hire a gun toting body guard, that's one less item (the gun) you will have carry yourself.

This is a very well written and informative book. More people on both sides of the second amendment issue should take the time to read this book. It truly points the failings of the people of this country not to speak out when the government just continues to trample on their constitutional rights. It shows how the government will backdoor the bill of rights and the constitution so that we the people can be good little sheep and do as we are told. Its more than just the 2nd amendment thats being worked and this book shows a lot about what is truly happening to our rights.

As a current student I read Mr. Poe's work with the kind of skepticism my professors have worked hard to instill in the core of my being. I read one argument and story after another thinking to myself, this is absolute garbage. What biased and utter nonsense. We'd have heard about all these atrocious stories and shocking statistics if they were true, wouldn't we?
I decided to research the stories and statistics in Mr. Poes book, and it resulted in the purchase and borrowing (from the library) of several books. I was shocked.
Not only does Mr. Poes work stand up to scrutiny, it points out a potentially serious flaw in his efforts.
Mr. Poe allows his bias to seep into his work, and this casts the cloud of suspicion I experienced when I read it for the first time. Because he wasn't able to remove his strong personal bias in favor of removing gun control, it is natural for the reader to interpret the hard to believe (but entirely true) accounts of horrific events that are virtually ignored by the media. If you can move past his strong bias, and investigate his work, you will share his bias when you are done.
If Mr. Poe could have eliminated the bias that bleeds through into his arguments he would have saved me a lot of time. But I'm very, VERY glad to have been prompted to research the issue as a result. I recommend reading this book to everyone that has any concerns about guns in the hands of private citizens. Whether you are for or against gun control, this book will provide you with the information necessary to further your own research and formulate better conclusions.

I thought that this book was a very valuable read that covers a lot of material on a range of gun control related issues in a surprisingly concise and easy to read style. Definitely worth reading.

This book is a must read by all who have a conceal carry permit. You need to know the legalities of what has happened in the past and what you may be facing in the future for those who argue that guns should be outlawed. You would be surprised by reading this book who is trying to take your right to own and carry a gun.
